Choosing the right vinyl banner finishing option helps improve durability, installation stability, and long-term outdoor performance. Different finishing styles are designed for different mounting methods, display environments, and banner sizes.

Hem + Grommets

A popular all-purpose finishing option featuring 1" heat-welded hems and #2 brass grommets placed at the corners or every 2–3 feet.

Best for: Outdoor advertising, storefront promotions, fence banners, and event signage.

Installation Tip: Use zip ties, ropes, or bungee cords to distribute tension evenly and reduce stress on banner edges.

Grommeted Flush Cut

A lightweight finishing option with flush-cut edges and brass grommets without reinforced hems.

Best for: Temporary indoor promotions and lightweight banner displays.

Installation Tip: Avoid excessive tension since the edges are not reinforced.

Pole Pocket Finishes

Pole pockets create a clean hanging appearance by allowing rods or poles to slide through the banner edges.

Top Pole Pocket

Ideal for wall-mounted or suspended indoor banners.

Top & Bottom Pole Pockets

Provides additional stability and helps reduce banner movement or curling.

Installation Tip: Use lightweight poles or support rods to keep banners flat and evenly displayed.

Flush Cut Only

Flush-cut banners are trimmed to size without hems, grommets, or reinforcement.

Best for: Mounted graphics, framed banner systems, and temporary indoor signage.

Installation Tip: Recommended when banners will be attached directly to flat surfaces or inserted into display hardware.

Hem Only

Features 1" heat-welded hems without grommets or hanging hardware.

Best for: Reinforced banner edges with flexible installation options later.

Reinforced Sewn Hem with Webbing

Heavy-duty finishing designed for large-format and high-wind outdoor banner installations.

Features sewn hems with internal webbing reinforcement and additional grommets spaced every 1–1.5 feet.

Best for: Construction banners, stadium signage, and oversized outdoor displays.

Installation Tip: Use reinforced mounting hardware and avoid over-tightening in windy environments.

Double-Sided Vinyl Banner Hanging Options

Double-sided vinyl banners can be suspended from poles, ceilings, or display frames using several finishing styles, including:

  • Grommeted Flush Cut with reinforcement patches
  • Top Pole Pocket
  • Top & Bottom Pole Pockets
  • Flush Cut Only

Installation Tip: Pole pockets help improve balance and reduce twisting on suspended double-sided banners.

Mesh Banner Installation Basics

Mesh banners are designed for outdoor environments where wind resistance is important. The perforated material allows airflow to reduce stress during installation.

Recommended finishing options include:

  • Hem + Grommets
  • Reinforced Sewn Hem with Webbing
  • Pole Pockets for suspended displays

Installation Tip: For fence applications, secure mesh banners evenly across all grommets and allow slight flexibility for wind movement.
